Not just a garnish

Popular in many cultures as a garnish, did you know that parsley is also rich in nutritional and medicinal properties? It boosts the immune system and can prevent against many infections, colds and other diseases. Its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties can be useful in preventing and easing conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and certain cancers.

Vitamins and Minerals

A cup of parsley contains:

  • more beta carotene (Vitamin A) than a large carrot
  • nearly twice the Vitamin C of an orange more calcium than a cup of milk
  • more iron than liver, gram for gram
  • a good source of vitamins B1 and B2

Medicinal

Parsley has been known to have medicinal properties that can:

  • Cleanse and strengthen the kidney and can even help break up kidney stones
  • Help with bladder or urinary tract infections
  • Aid digestion and promote a faster elimination of waste materials from the body
  • Act as an anti-inflammatory, reducing joint pain and stiffness
  • Boost the immune system and protect against colds and infections
  • Help to protect the body against heart disease and cardiovascular disease
  • Help with water retention, bloating, indigestion and flatulence
  • Aid the digestion of proteins and fats
  • The calcium and fluorine that is present in parsley can strengthen bones and teeth

Use it

Fresh chopped parsley can easily be added to a variety of dishes and condiments, such as:

  • Fish & Chicken
  • Rice
  • Mayonnaise
  • Salads & salad dressings
  • Pasta sauces
  • Soup

Hint: Buy a potted parsley plant for your home. You will always have a supply of fresh parsley, and the fragrance will enhance your home.
